Erik and Carla Schneider said they were drawn to Heifer Foundation's Micro-Endowment model, because it was a more permanent and secure way to support the work of Heifer International. "With Micro-Endowments, you can actually track the money you give," Erik said.
"We really like that idea."
Carla said their Micro-Endowments give them a more personal connection with where their money is going. Their commitment to ending hunger and poverty through sustainable means led Carla to auction off her wedding ring with the proceeds going toward whichever endowment the winning bidder chose. It was the Schneider's way of "Passing on the Gift."
